Enter Dos
Entre Dos is a series of sculptures exploring memories of Venezuela and the experience of immigrating to the United States. Each sculpture is built from cut sections of wheel-thrown cylinders joined together to reveal both sides of their walls, these sections are bent individually to create connections between opposing surfaces. Oxide stains are brushed throughout the sculptures, creating movement reminiscent of Florida's sawgrass landscapes, while glazes layered through the joints and across the surface draw inspiration from memories of Venezuela. Together, these surfaces reflect how these places intertwine and become one in my life.
